Blue Suede Shoes Productions , USA , US reprint
paperback , 96 pages , 28 x 21.6 x 0.5 cm , 0.285 kg

Category: Photographs
Language: English
Description: Black & white photographs, newspaper and magazine clippings from 1956 and 1957. At the time of publication most photographs had never been seen before. As stated by the editor the quality of 'very very old pics is not always 100 per cent'. The book includes drawings by Ger Rijff (page 29 meeting Pat Boone and page 96 Elvis announcing the end of the book). This reprint was published by Vic Colonna in the US a couple of years later then the original edition. Vic used the original printing films from Ger. (a note from ElvisBooks: in the colofon the year is still given as 1976, but assuming it was released in 1978?) According to Ger the 'US reprint edition is for 90% an exact copy of the original edition' (source: theelvisforum.org). Compared to the original edition this US reprint edition has different front and back covers. Also the page numbers were cropped from the top of the pages, making the book slightly smaller. In addition, the photograph on page 1 is different and the photo in the original edition on the intro page number 3 (showing Elvis, Bill and Scotty) was replaced with a drawing by Ger Rijff. Further side by side comparison shows that the pages 20 till 26 are completely different and are unique to each edition. So counting for pages Ger was correct in stating the 90%. Finally, the pages of the US reprint have a more 'zerox'-look then the original edition. Go for both editions and you will have two different ones!
